Horsemanship Training

Owning a horse comes with an immense responsibility. You are in complete control of the welfare of an animal: at a minimum, you need to know dietary requirements, basic vet care, and barn management.

At  Square One, we value the development of a horse and owner partnership; so we use the standards of proficiencies from The United States Pony Club to mold all of our students into vigilant, respectable horsemen.

So, whether you are a new horse owner or a seasoned caretaker/rider, let us help you advance in your Pony Club ratings or simply develop a deep sense of horse knowledge to strengthen your relationship with your horse.

*Clinics and private sessions are available. Pricing is dependent on group size.*

What we offer:

Ground Work

A great partnership with an equine starts with correct handling. We are happy to assist you with developing a strong foundation in areas of your need (to include but not limited to): grooming, leading, lunging, ground driving, and trailer loading.

Horse Health Care

Knowing what to do in an emergency situation is essential for any horse owner. We can help you develop your response tactics for assisting (but not limited to) a cast horse, a colicking horse, 0r a bleeding horse.

Additionally, we can help you develop a comfort level of dealing with more common health care needs such as bandaging,  managing abscesses, administering medications, and de-worming.

Show Preparation

Making the decision to take your riding to the show ring can be a daunting task for some riders, so we are here to help make this experience a positive one. We can teach you tips for grooming, clipping, braiding, scheduling, and packing to ensure both you and your equine partner are fully equipped for a successful experience.
