Brittany has been working on her personal yoga practice for the last five years, and she has been instructing both individual and group classes for over a year and a half. She completed her 200 hour yoga training course through Riverflow Yoga in Lambertville, NJ, and she focuses primarily on hot yoga with the 26 asanas of the Bikram sequence and finds great purpose in this practice.
As a certified yoga instructor and FEI rider, Brittany blends the athletic needs of riders with yoga asanas to increase strength, balance, and flexibility in the saddle. Sessions are geared towards aligning your body and stretching your muscles to have a more productive and enjoyable session in the saddle.
Brittany’s Teaching Philosophy:
Your body is different everyday, so it is essential to take the time to focus on its specific needs. We spend so much time demanding actions from our bodies and living fast paced lives, but we rarely take the time to ask what it needs to meet those demands. When your awareness is on your current state and building balance and strength both mentally and physically, those desired results will happen much more naturally.
Through this open-eye meditation practice of 26 poses, your body is able to develop memory and take you to a comfortable daily max. This daily max differs everyday and is usually directly correlated with your personal life, so it is imperative to listen to your body. For example, if your balance is off, there is likely a larger imbalance in your life. If your flexibility is lessened, you are likely more stressed and holding tension. This practice is designed to acknowledge areas to develop daily and breathe into finding a way to re-balance and strengthen. When you can block out the outside world, focus on the cues in the practice, and align your body in the moment, you will be amazed by your personal abilities.
